Financial Adviser Position Open?

..Since my last post, I found an industrial corp who was looking to add more members to their machine.  Pretty fortunate for both parties, as I was, and always am, looking to fill unique roles within any aspiring corporation!

During the interview with Lan Mo, I talked about my hard skills in Eve, such as being a Logi pilot, great mining skills, etc.  But since the AWOX nerf, those skills don't put me in the right position for maximum chaos.  So I had to talk about my other set of skills, trading.

More on these insane profits later...

 At this point in the infiltration, I just wanted to plant the seed, not overwhelm Lan.  I didn't tell him my exact trading procedure or profits, but I did tell him that I had no problem acquiring ISK via the market.  I let that sink in for a few days.

Lan sent out a mail, informing every corp member that they were handing out roles for various positions within the corp.  Obviously, this fit right in to my narrative.  There was only one hiccup, everyone who wished to apply for a position had to submit their full API.  Crap.

That's just the way it goes sometimes with HighSec corps, some want API's, other don't.  Either way there is nothing to lose, as most pilots who audit API's just gloss over the details, as Lan did.  Even though my Kill Log is full of very successful Code Enforcement from within various illegal mining operations, Lan didn't seem to notice or care.

Well, do you?

During my post audit interview, I let Lan know that I was very interested and capable at the Trading Officer position.  Let me explain my angle here:

I played into Lan's desire to run a fully functional HighSec industry corp, detailing a plan to make billions of ISK  when the structure changes go live. The only hangup, I advised, was the capital to start the manufacturing machine.

But fear not Lan!  I can multiply the corps coffers by market trading!  And thus:

Yep, sounds great.

Now that I had some of the rolls I wanted, I could do a few things.  Run off with whatever ISK the corp had, which would be just fine.  But I had another idea, become a legit trader for the corp, and show the awesome profits that I was making for them, then segue that into managing the personal ISK for any corp member that wanted my services.

At this point in the infiltration, everything was going great.  I made sure that everyone in the corp was well aware of the amount of ISK I was making on the market, and I even offered to teach the trade game to any corp member who wanted to learn.  And a few members took me up on that offer.  Which leads to the worst part of this infiltration.  

THEY HAD NO MONEY!

The corp and the members I talked to were flat broke.  I guess mining just does not lead to the rich and famous lifestyle.  Again, that's the way it goes.  Sometimes you stumble onto a few dudes who has a PLEX'd up wallet, and other times all you get is a group of folks who really just want to mine and be broke.  Barf.

So long story short (too late), I decided to WarDec them with my other pilot, to hopefully squeeze out some content for myself with the time that I had invested.  And as expected, because my WarDec pilot is quite tied to Syds Sinclair on the interwebs, they found me out and kicked me pretty quick.  Ah well.  

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that they formed a plan to get even with me before they kicked me out, involving switching to a different corp, with friendly fire enabled! to evade the WarDec.  But alas, it turns out that most of the miners had no interest in any interaction with any entity besides rocks in space, so the friendly fire ambush was abandoned.  A corp member by the name of Kloric Atir did the snooping and uncovered the connecting between me and the WarDec.

I came to realize a few things during this infiltration.  First, I can talk my way into just about anything.  Second, with the amount of profit I make from simple trading, it's not worth it to me to spend the time and effort trying to gain a corps trust.  I mean, even if I could have rallied them into raising their ISK and giving it to me, how much could I have made?  2b ISK?  That's an hour on the market, over about 3 days.  

I'm moving on from the HighSec corp shenanigans for a while.  I'll probably work a Reverse Safari here and there, but for now, I have a few other things in mind.

Back from Hiatus

..Took a break  for almost a year, but I can't keep winning Eve any longer.

I'm watching the launcher update as we speak, and I think I'm going to pick back up where I left off:  HighSec griefing.  At the time of this writing, I'm not sure what the state of AWOXing is.  If it's still an option, I'll see if there are any unprepared corps willing to take me in for a while.

I'm most likely going to jump back into the regional trading game also.  I believe my wallets balance was ~24B when I went on vacation.  I'd like to make that number grow.

Going to try a few interesting WarDec's.  See if I can't get an alt into a corp and be a spai.

At the very least, I'm going to do stuff and things and write about them here.  Yup yup.

Sphere's of Explosions, Part three

..Ok so I'm a bit late on this update.  I'll give you the quick and dirty:

The members of Sphere's of Eden decided to not log in whilst under my wardec.  And if we look at Eve Who, they have suffered some losses in the form of member count.

They had approximately 30 members at the time that I awoxed them, and now they are down to 20.  The principal members from the awox,  Tito Alexander Moreno, Jerimiah Stalker, and Hello Kitty TheDestroyer all sought greener pastures.

I'm happy about the amount of ISK I destroyed of theirs, and I'm happy about the outcome of this corp.  My single awox absolutely destroyed this PvE mining corp.

And that's that.  I didn't continue my harrassment of SoE because I also moved on the greener pastures.  Check my next post for more info on that.

Sphere's of Explosions, Part Two

..Things have taken a turn for the unexpected since my last post about Sphere's of Eden.  Let me recap:

I infiltrate SoE and Awox 2.2 billion in ships.  I stay cloaked in space whilst AFK for two days, thus bring their corp activity to a grinding halt.  SoE manages to kick me from corp when I was unable to log in right after downtime.  I form a corp and declare war on SoE with the intentions of ransoming them for the cessation of war.

And that has been the story up until yesterday morning, when I contacted a Sphere's of Eden diplomat to discuss the situation that they and I find ourselves in.  Here is the chat log of our discussion:

Actually, my observations are a little different.  Carebears tend to become rage filled and murderous people who threaten retaliation via real life violence directed at gankers.  While emergent pilots of my ilk are usually level headed and conduct themselves as the gentlemen they are.

My reasons:  Hulks and an Orca and a Charon in the belt and I just infiltrated your corp.  I decided that 2.2 billion in losses was good enough reason to attack now.  A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, and all that.

Jerimiah confused me with his assessment of the damages that I caused.  Not many pilots would value the loss of 2.2 billion as negligible.  I pointed out to Jerimiah that there are in fact many pilots who would disagree with his quantification of damages caused.  If I am anything, I like to consider myself a teacher of the finer points in Eve.

This is the part that I find most hilarious.  Jerimiah submitted his own terms that aligned almost perfectly with my own.  But Jerimiah reached critical mass, and his small carebear mind could not process the totality of the situation.

As I stated in my previous entry about Sphere's of Eden, they as a corp are too small to seriously wardec and hope to catch one of their few members to kill.  I decided to create a corp and dec them just to get some kind of reaction in the form of a ransom or something worthy of a new blog post from them, because I knew their corp would feel the pressure.

What happened next far exceeded my expectations:

Sphere's of Eden thought is was prudent to hire Marmite of all people to wardec my newly made one man corp in retaliation and retribution to my actions.  

I'm sure most of you know how silly this is, but I'd really like to cover it.

I make a one man corp to dec Sphere's of Eden.  

I offer my terms for cessation of hostilities to Sphere's of Eden, and one of their diplomats offers his terms that are almost identical to mine.

Sphere's diplomat decides to withdraw their terms that are almost identical to mine.

Sphere's of Eden decide to pay Marmite (of all people) 450m to wardec my freshly made one man corp.  

I find myself now wondering how can I inflict the absolute most damage to these people?  I could take the free wardec that they gave me against Marmite for some station and gate pew, that's an option.  But I really would like to infuriate Sphere's.  

So I keep my corp Regular Irresistibles open by putting one of my alts in it and then.....

...form a new one man corp to dec Sphere's again.  Lawl.

With any luck, Sphere's will pay Marmite another 450m for them to dec my new corp, Opportune Segue.  I must add that the name I chose for this new corp is amazingly awesome, and fitting.

So the new butcher's bill.  2.2 billion in damages plus the 450m they paid Marmite to dec my one man corp:  2.65 billion in damages inflicted to Sphere's of Eden.

..As I was minding my own business checking the financial pages and sipping on some Quafe, I noticed an advert pop up in the recruitment channel.  Ripcord Zarrek of Sphere's of Eden happened to have a few positions open for employment!  What luck!  I was at the time in between employment, and not wanting to be a deadbeat podpilot, I decided to give them a shot.

With my more then capable combat pilot employed by Sphere's, who had an excess of vulnerable ships on field, and my compliment of about 4 Undesirables in tow, the trap was perfect and about to be sprung.  WARNING:  GRATUITOUS PEW INCOMING!

Actually, I only killed one Hulk.  But I thought I killed three, so that should count for something.

 Even with one Hulk dead and an Orca and a Charon scrammed, they were not in the mood to negotiate.   I offered a modest 500m to let them go, but Hello Kitty TheDestroyer's resolve was iron clad.  

He then said "We are talking.  1 Minute."  

I figured they were trying to mount some sort of defense fleet.  And with 4 Undesirables repping me, I would have been more then happy to welcome whatever they could muster to the field.  But before they arrived, I wanted to put the Orca out of it's misery, and soften up the Charon.

I wasn't getting anywhere with my diplomatic skills.  So I decided that I should go over some of the Code with these criminal miners while their Charon fell pitifully into structure.

I informed them about how it is a custom and good form to toss a "GF" into local after a successful and honorable gank.  I also educated Jerimiah Stalker that in fact no, New Order Agents do not engage in certain activities.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.   

All in all it was a ~2.2 billion Safari that went from concept to execution in just a few hours.  I wish I could have stolen the Orca and/or ransomed the fleet, but even without that, I'm very happy with the results.  I got to blow up some expensive ships and a few Undesirables got to get in on some action.

I ended up cloaking at a safe in their HQ system for the rest of the day, and the following day.  None of my gank victims came online either day, and a crop that started with having 12-15 active members every day became one that had at most 2-3 pilots online, but docked up. The third day in, Sphere's of Eden was able to kick me from the corp, as I was unable to log back in after downtime. 

Sphere's of Eden is only a 25-30 man corp.  But I could tell that my presence had devastated their active members.  I really want to wring something out of them, and I think I have the right angle to do it.  If the leadership would like to keep this corp open and operational, they had better learn how to retain their members.  And what better way to make a corp lose members?

I've always wanted to try my hand at the ole' one man wardec thing.

New Trade Markets 4/5/14 - Update

..Update on my new venture.  So the status is I've made ~130m profit on these 8 items.  Breaking it down, that is about 14m profit a day (9 days since my blog post indicating I was venturing into these markets.)

Considering the 1.7b I sunk, and sank, into this market, this is less then a 1%/day ROI.

Typically, I would cash out and abandon these items from my portfolio, but this week has been a bit trying for me, trading wise.

I fell ill (a charity for my wellness has been set up, please send all donations to Syds Sinclair.  Tax refundable, of course,) and I wasted 3 days where I did not update at all, and now I'm going into my 4th day where I haven't bought any items to export.

I'm going to give these items another week, I absolutely need to get around 20-30m profit a day from these items, or they wont be worth my time.

So check back in a week, and we will have the final verdict.

We seemed to be on the same page about GTA.  Too bad twenty meant Grand Theft Auto, while I was talking about Grand Theft Aero.
Now, this next part of the convo really emphasises the imporant work that AWOXers do.  Mr. twentyafter fancies himself a Capsuleer, a honorable pastime.  But, there are other “missions” that a pod pilot must complete before he can be a space fairing, imortal entity.  Read on:

Tisk tisk.  A pod pilot who isn’t “Technically Employed” but is “Online Daily” in Eve. CONCORD must be hard at work tracking down deadbeat Capsuleers just like twenty.
I had to weigh my options.  Twenty is a 9 year old pilot flying a Golem.  I have to expect that he has a pretty good tank.  Syds is greatly skilled into killing Orca’s and the like, but I had reservations about engaging a pilot whose tank I might not be able to break.  I decided to bring in my alt, sniperDK.  He would provide the ganke while Syds provided the tank via a repping Osprey.

I accepted the contract for the Obelisk, but fuck, broker fees and station taxes kill you.  I would be lucky to clear 900m after selling it.  As a good businessman. I suggested that twenty pay for the bureaucratic fees.  He declined, and left me no other option then to try and recoup some of my expences via the loot from his Golem.

I forget what the question I was trying to ask twenty was, but maybe the GM that contacts me will be able to.  I’m still waiting on that GM convo…
All in all it was about a 1.7 billion AWOX.  I was able to sell his dropped mods and Obelisk in Jita.  Twentyafter logged after I killed his Golem, but  I ended up sitting cloaked in a safe spot in space hoping I would be able to do a little more GTA or collect some severance pay.
I noticed him log back in a few hours, so I tried to provoke him a bit:

As it turns out, my real life work schedule, day lights savings time, and Eve maintenance do not align.  So I tried to bluff him, but I was only able to sit cloaked in space whilst still a member of twenty’s corp for approx. 10 hours before he was able to boot me.
What would you guys have done differently?  Think you could have bled some more ISK out of this unemployed Capsuleer?
